Basic Camera Settings
Explained
The main features of the camera include:
Main Menu: Access various options, mainly using “Erase Images” and “Image Quality.”
Live View Switch: Toggles between the camera’s screen and the scene being photographed; usage is based on personal preference.
Aperture Control: Press the highlighted aperture value (e.g., “F8.0”) and adjust using the main dial to change aperture settings.
Focus Control/Zoom: Primarily used for focus control, click to choose a focus point during playback.
Selection Keys: Navigate up, down, or sideways on different screens.
OK/Set: Confirm selections, such as changing ISO settings.
Erase: Delete the currently viewed image in playback mode.
Playback: View the last image taken or all images by zooming out with the Focus Control buttons.
Key Camera Settings Explained:
Shutter Speed: Duration the shutter remains open for a photo.
Aperture: Controls the amount of light entering the camera.
ISO: Adjusts sensitivity to light.
Shooting Mode: The selected mode is shown on the top dial.
Image Quality: Indicates format (JPEG/RAW) and quality (large, medium, small).
Exposure Level: Essential for manual shooting; aim to keep the dash cantered for proper brightness.
White Balance: Adjusts colour based on lighting; Auto (AWB) generally works best.
Focus Mode: Determines focusing method (One-Shot for stills, AI Focus for moving subjects, Manual Focus for manual adjustments).
Drive Mode: Controls how many photos are taken per shutter press (continuous for multiple frames, single for one shot, self-timer for delays).
