Pietersburg Fotografie Klub
Our Purpose
We promote photography as both art and comunity building: sharing across generations, and showcasing work that grows the culture of images in Polokwane and beyond.
Who we are
The club was founded by Jack Botes in 1949. After early “hibernation” phases, a committed group revived the club in the mid-1970s and laid the foundation for the vibrant community you’ll find today.
Across decades, PFK has balanced craft and community: hands-on workshops, friendly critique evenings, national salon entries, and regular public presentations that keep photography alive in Limpopo.
What we do
- Monthly meetings with image showcases and constructive feedback
- Workshops & local outings to landmarks, reserves, and events
- Competitions & exhibitions (PSSA salons, community shows)
- Mentorship for beginners and stretch goals for advanced shooters

Our spirit
Photography is more than pressing a shutter — it’s storytelling, fine art, discovery, and shared learning. We teach, mentor, and celebrate the craft so that photographers in Polokwane and across Limpopo can thrive.
“It’s not how you get down — it’s how you get up.”
